SugarCRM Adds Cloud Connectors, Mobile Customizations
We’ve been long-time users (and advocates) of SugarCRM.
Sugar fits within our preference for flexible, powerful, open-source platforms, and we’ve found it to be incredibly useful through the past few years, both internally for our business and as a platform for our clients. We’ve used SugarCRM both “out of the box” and as a foundation for some very deep customization and integration work.
Sugar’s next major update, SugarCRM 5.5, is now generally available, and it adds several great new capabilities to Sugar Professional:
- Mobile Studio: Customizable interfaces for mobile smartphone access.
- Cloud Connectors: Real time data integration from online sources like LinkedIn and Hoovers.
- Dynamic Teams: Add multiple teams and individuals to a single record.
- Social Feeds: User created Facebook-style work status updates.
Here’s a closer look at how these new features can benefit your business:
Mobile Studio
Sugar Studio provides drag and drop tools for adding new fields, editing dropdown menus and changing screen layouts. The Mobile Studio leverages these tools to create interfaces specifically for accessing the CRM on a mobile device.
When your sales staff or executives need to view or edit CRM information when on the move, you can provide them with a simple, streamlined interfaced perfect for that tiny mobile browser window.
SugarCRM is capable of recognizing when a user is accessing the site on a mobile phone, and serving up your customized interfaces.
Cloud Connectors
Websites like LinkedIn invite people to volunteer a treasure trove of information about themselves and their company. Websites like Hoovers specialize in collecting this information. Cloud Connectors make this wealth of data available to you in your own CRM. Mouse over windows draw in information views in real time, and data merge tools allow you to quickly import information from these sources into your standard CRM view.
Dynamic Teams
With Dynamic Teams, you can add multiple teams or individuals to a single record. This easily enables multiple contributors on complex projects and sales, and helps information span multiple teams, such as sales and customer support.
Social Feeds
With a nod to Facebook’s massive impact, Social Feeds allows users to update their working status to improve visibility and collaboration within teams.
